Godmorgon Cecilia! Vad äter du till frukost?
Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. During the week I usually have two cups of coffee, an egg, and some kind of vegetable or fruit. I am a master egg cooker, if I do say so myself, and can poach, fry or scramble an egg to perfection. On weekends I will have an omelet or eggs benedict, something truly special.
Härligt! Läser du helst morgontidningen eller en roman till frukosten?
I don’t read at all in the mornings, although I will sometimes check my email. Mornings are a time for reflection. There is no better time for me to hear myself think and to write.
Men en bra morgonroman, vad kan det vara?
Actually I would recommend that a person try writing in the morning. When I worked as a psychotherapist, I often encouraged my clients to do this. The mind is fresh and our defenses are down. Writing is a wonderful way to get to know yourself. However, a lovely book for morning readers might be the great American classic, ”To Kill a Mockingbird” by Lee Harper. Why? because it is both quiet and intense and puts you in a substantive frame of mind.
Skriva i stället, aha! Vad läser du just nu?
Death in the Andes by Mario Vargas Llosa
Vad använder du som bokmärke?
Whatever scrap of paper I have on hand at the moment. I do have lovely bookmarks but I frequently misplace them. I have even been guilty of (gasp) folding over the page.
En viktig avslutande boknördsfråga är förstås hur ni sorterar böckerna i hyllan?
I keep books that I am currently reading or have recently read on my nightstand, as I am an evening reader almost exclusively. I have book shelves in other parts of my house that are bursting. Like my spice rack, they are not alphabetized or organized in any particular fashion, but when I’m looking for a particular book (or spice) I’ve never had any trouble finding it. My University books I keep in boxes in the attic. I also have a digital reader, but despite the convenience I prefer real books.
Tack Cecilia för intervjun och ha en härlig Sverige-vistelse!
